AI Connections¶
AI Connections lets the AI app you already use work in BaseCloud for you. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any other app that supports MCP, then ask in plain words:
- "Brief me on Acme Roofing before my call."
- "Who owes us money, and which invoices are overdue?"
- "Reply to Sam's email and tell him Thursday works."
- "Build a workflow that welcomes every new client and tells the team."
The AI works as you. It sees what you can see in BaseCloud and can do what you can do, and no more. You choose what it may do when you connect it, and everything it does is recorded in the Activity Log.
What MCP is¶
MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI apps use to connect to business software. BaseCloud has an MCP server, so any app that supports MCP can connect to it with one link:
- Claude (web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code)
- ChatGPT
- Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Gemini CLI
- Mistral Le Chat
- Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code with GitHub Copilot
- any other app that supports MCP connectors with sign-in
You don't install anything and there is no API key to copy. You sign in with your normal BaseCloud login.
In this section¶

The six things you can allow, and what each one covers.
-
What you can ask
Example requests for clients, your Inbox, messages, money, the calendar and workflows.
-
Manage AI connections
For administrators: switch AI connections on or off, limit what they may do, and disconnect an app.
How your data is handled¶
- Nothing leaves BaseCloud until you connect your own AI app and choose what to allow.
- What the AI reads is then handled by that AI provider, under your own account with them and its terms.
- Every request the AI makes is logged in BaseCloud against you and the app that made it.
- Passwords, API keys and tokens stored in workflow settings are never shown to the AI.
- You can disconnect an app at any time, and an administrator can switch AI connections off for the whole account.
