Connect an AI app

Who can do this

Anyone with CRM Access, for their own AI app. It takes about a minute.

  1. Click your name at the top right and choose Settings.
  2. Open AI Connections.
  3. Click Copy next to the link.

The link looks like https://mcp.basecloudglobal.com/mcp. If you belong to more than one BaseCloud account, the link shown is for the account you are working in.

2. Add it to your AI app

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste the link, name it "BaseCloud" and click Add.
  4. Click Connect.
  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Add a new connector and paste the link as its MCP server URL.
  3. Choose OAuth as the sign-in method and save.
  4. Click Connect.

In Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Mistral Le Chat or any other MCP app, add a remote MCP server (sometimes called a custom connector) and paste the link as its URL. The app opens BaseCloud's sign-in page for you.

In Claude Code, run:

claude mcp add --transport http basecloud https://mcp.basecloudglobal.com/mcp

3. Sign in and choose what it may do

Your AI app opens a BaseCloud page.

  1. Sign in the way you always do, with your two-factor code if you use one.
  2. If you belong to several accounts, choose which one to connect.
  3. Switch on what the app may do. Read your CRM is always included; the rest are up to you. See Permissions.
  4. Click Connect.

You're taken back to your AI app, and BaseCloud is ready to use. Try: "What's in my BaseCloud inbox?"

Connect more than one account

One connection works in one BaseCloud account. To use another account as well, switch to it in BaseCloud, open Settings → AI Connections, copy that account's link and add it to your AI app as a second connector.

Change what a connection may do

Disconnect BaseCloud in your AI app and connect it again. The BaseCloud page appears again, and you can switch permissions on or off.

Disconnect

Open Settings → AI Connections. Every app you have connected is listed with what it may do, when it was connected and when it was last used. Click Disconnect next to one to stop it straight away.

If something goes wrong

  • You don't see AI Connections in Settings. It isn't switched on for your account yet. Ask BaseCloud support to switch it on.
  • A permission is greyed out. Your administrator hasn't allowed it for AI connections. See Manage AI connections.
  • A permission is missing. Your own BaseCloud rights don't include it. See Why can't I see something?
  • "A server with this URL already exists" in Claude. You're adding a second account with the first account's link. Use the second account's own link.
  • The AI says it can't do something. That permission is off for the connection. Reconnect and switch it on.
