Email

You send email from the client it's about, and it's kept with the client's notes. Replies come back to the same place. Each person can send from their own addresses and from their team's shared addresses.

How email gets out

An address can send in one of two ways:

  • Through its own mailbox. When you connect your Microsoft or Google mailbox, your email goes out through it. It shows in that mailbox's Sent folder, and mail arriving there comes into BaseCloud.
  • Through BaseCloud. Without a connected mailbox, BaseCloud sends for you. This needs the address's domain to be verified for your account, so that inboxes accept it as genuine.

An address that has neither can't be used yet. Sending addresses explains how to tell.

Where email you receive goes

Email from a client's contact lands on that client, and in the Inbox of whoever it's for. Email sent to a team's shared address lands with the whole team; see Shared mailboxes. When BaseCloud can't tell which client an email is about, it waits for you as an unmatched email. Email rules let you decide where particular email goes.
